In the heart of Pensacola's vibrant artistic scene, Cristina Fenger stands as a key orchestrator of creativity at Pensacola Little Theatre (PLT). Her journey, which commenced in 2017 when her son took his first steps onto the Treehouse stage, has blossomed into a kaleidoscope of roles. Cristina is now a Production Coordinator for numerous Treehouse, Mainstage, and Studio 400 productions. Beyond the footlights, Cristina's life is woven with threads of volunteerism, starting at the age of 16 and extending into various roles such as an active-duty United States Air Force wife, PTA President, and now, an essential part of PLT's artistic family.

Cristina's involvement has grown over the years, transitioning from ushering to House Managing and finally finding her niche as a Production Coordinator. Her impressive portfolio includes over a dozen Treehouse, Mainstage, and Studio 400 productions. Notably, she served as the Assistant Director for the Studio 400 People's Choice Award-winning production, "RED," and was instrumental in the success of other notable works like "UNREQUITED."

A Production Coordinator plays a vital role behind the scenes, ensuring the seamless flow of a production. They assist with setting up for rehearsals and meetings, coordinating the cast and crew, managing paperwork, and maintaining communication between departments. Their flexibility and diverse responsibilities make them essential contributors to the success of a theatre production.

For Cristina, volunteering is not just a role; it's a cornerstone of her life. Since she was 16, she has actively participated in various volunteer activities, starting with the Big Brothers & Sisters program. Her journey continued as an activities assistant in an assisted living facility and an autism camp, a reading mentor in elementary schools, and later, as an active-duty United States Air Force wife. The role expanded into volunteering for school-related activities as a parent, including PTA involvement, where she served as Vice President and later as President for two years at her son's elementary school.

Upon moving to Pensacola, Cristina embraced a new chapter of volunteering with PLT. She quickly became an integral part of the community theater scene, serving on both the Artistic and Treehouse Committees. The vibrant artistic world fueled her creative side and allowed her to leverage her strong skills as a business owner. Cristina highlights how volunteers are crucial for community theaters to thrive, and she takes pride in playing a small but essential part in making Pensacola Little Theatre a beloved institution in the community.

Bringing Stories to Life:
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time"

Cristina discusses production notes with Director, Joe Nierle, before a rehearsal of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.

When director Joe Nierle approached Cristina to work on "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," her response was an immediate yes. Beyond her admiration for working with Joe, this production held personal significance. Having read the book with her son and worked with students on the autism spectrum, Cristina recognized the importance of bringing this story to life on stage.

The play revolves around Christopher, a character on the autistic spectrum, and delves into his personal journey, challenges within his family dynamics, and, ultimately, finding his own truth and strength. Cristina sees the story as a reflection of the universal human experience—acknowledging and celebrating our unique differences.
