AUDITIONS: Auditions for the 2026-2027 Academy Class are on August 10th and 11th, 2026

This season, our Academy Class will be performing a non-musical play.

What to bring to Auditions: one (1) fully memorized 1-2 minute contemporary monologue.

The 2026-2027 Academy Season will be accepting eight (8) to ten (10) students into the program.

Classes will be held on Mondays from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.

The PLT Academy is for students in 9th through 12th grade.

Cost: $350

Session Dates: Aug. 17-Nov. 16, Jan. 11-April 19 (no class March 22)

Performance April 24 on the Mainstage

THE PLT ACADEMY

Founded in 2015 the PLT Academy is a professional training program that culminates in a performance of a published play.

Directed by former Wicked performer, Brenda Jean Hamilton, this course brings elevated Broadway expertise to the student experience.  Accepted students will experience advanced scene study, vocal dynamics, and kinesthetic awareness and other advanced acting skills found on Broadway stages.  The PLT Academy provides a professional training experience, while still maintaining a safe space to grow and learn.  This course is perfect for students considering college theatre programs as well as a professional career in acting.  The program is also great for confidence building and intrapersonal skills that transfer to any career.

Auditions are held annually in August, and if accepted, the student may register for the current school year. Auditions will be held annually, so that each year the Academy consists of new and returning students. Once a student graduates from high school they also graduate from our program and are no longer eligible to enroll in Academy.
