MAINSTAGE - HORROR AND SUSPENSE

Directed by Topher Warren, Music Directed by Tine Buran, Choreographed by Katelyn Geri // September 19 - October 5, 2025

Darkness and desire collide in Jekyll & Hyde, the epic gothic musical thriller. When the brilliant Dr. Henry Jekyll's bold experiment unleashes his violent alter ego, Edward Hyde, a chilling game of dual identities unfolds. With a sweeping score featuring showstoppers like "This Is the Moment" and "Someone Like You," this gothic tale of good versus evil explores the razor-thin line between man and monster.

*Jekyll & Hyde contains violence, mature themes, and language that may not be suitable for young audiences.

Cast

Dr. Henry Jekyll/ Edward Hyde

Gavin is thrilled to be back home at PLT, playing a role that his 14-year-old self would have freaked out knowing had become a reality. A multi-hyphenate artist, you can also find him behind the production table, directing or costuming. A few of his favorite onstage credits include Gomez (The Addams Family), Fairy Godmother (Cinderella), Wadsworth (Clue: On Stage), Shakespeare (Something Rotten), Shrek (Shrek the Musical), Dennis/Perkins (The Play that Goes Wrong), and Bob Crewe (Jersey Boys). Gavin also directed the hit Studio 400 production of Alabama Story in 2023. He holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory.

Destiny Howard as Lucy Harris

Her most recent role was Alice Russell in Lizzie The Musical at PenArts, Inc. Oddly enough, she has been cast yet again as the love interest of a murderer. She is not so sure what that is supposed to imply... But she's thrilled to be helping to tell this story and sharing the stage with such wonderful and talented people.

Meg Mays as Emma Carew

Meg is beyond excited to be in her third show at PLT and to perform a musical she has adored for years. Recent roles have included Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Sandra in The Play That Goes Wrong, and Guinevere in Camelot.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

Each night in the theatre is unique because each night brings new voices, new energy, and a new audience. In a world where so much pulls at our attention, your choice to be here to gather together and share in the telling of a story means more than words can fully express. Theatre lives only in this moment, between artists and audience, and it cannot exist without you. Thank you for being part of this performance and for making it possible.

Jekyll and Hyde asks us to wrestle with one of the oldest truths of humanity: that within each of us lies both light and shadow, good and evil. Every day we make choices that tilt the balance. Sometimes the world feels like it is drowning in its darker half, chaotic, uncertain, and heavy. But I believe, and this production strives to remind us, that even when the night seems longest, goodness remains. Light endures. And it is always worth choosing.

As you watch these characters struggle with who they are and what they become, I invite you to reflect on the same question for yourself: Who do I choose to be? May tonight’s performance be both a cautionary tale and a spark of hope.

Thank you for joining us in this journey. May you leave the theatre carrying with you the reminder that no matter how dark the world feels, there is always light to be found—and shared.
