THE FLICK
STUDIO 400 - MATURE THEMES
Directed by KG Uslan // August 29 - September 7, 2025
Step into the quiet chaos of a fading movie theater in The Flick, Annie Baker's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. As three employees sweep up popcorn and share their dreams between reels, unexpected bonds form in the flickering shadows. Subtle, heartfelt, and bitingly funny, The Flick is a poignant love letter to cinema and the people who live just outside the spotlight.
The Flick contains mature themes and language, which may not be suitable for all audience members.
NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED DURING THE PERFORMANCE.

Dirk dedicates this performance to his best friend and wife, Heather, whose unwavering support gives him the courage to bring Sam to life.
ANTOINE STRIBLING AS AVERY
The Flick is Antoine’s second time on stage following A Man for All Seasons last fall. He’s written for 24 Hour Theatreand worked on costumes on POTUS, Short Attention Span Theatre, and The Play That Goes Wrong. Up next, he will be on the costume crew for Jekyll & Hyde and Junie B. Benji has an Associate of Arts degree in Theatre from Pensacola State College, where he was seen in Crimes of the Heart, Death of a Salesman, and Company. He has also received training as a theatre technician under the guidance of Lance Brannon. JACOB PETERSEN AS AVERY UNDERSTUDY/ENSEMBLE
Jacob currently studies creative writing and theatre at the University of West Florida. During his time at UWF, he interned at the Pensacola Little Theatre, where he wrote three shows: The Day the Sun Went Missing, Fairytale Support Group, and Chatter, for various purposes. Jacob also trained under Sandi Palag at Labelle Performing Arts and has played many roles, most notably Mr. Beaver in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Shrek in Shrek, and The Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland. This would be Jacob's first role at PLT.
ANJELA HELLER AS ROSE UNDERSTUDY/ENSEMBLE
Anjela is ecstatic to finally do a show with Pensacola Little Theatre! Especially with a masterful playwright like Annie Baker. She plans to pursue musical theatre in college and hopes to return to this theatre once she's older. She was last seen as Sarah in Santa Rosa Community Theatres' production of Speaking In Tongues by Andrew Bovell.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
The Flick takes place during a time where 75% of all movie theatres in the United States were converting to digital. This transition from the organic quality of film to the more definite quality of digital serves as a metaphor for how the characters yearn to see each other versus what usually ends up happening. “Digital movies are just millions of tiny dots” similar to the multitude of tiny boxes and stereotypes we put each other in. “These dots cannot express the variation in color and texture that film can” and neither can the assumptions that we make about other people. It is much harder, but more magical, when we choose to see the full breadth of our humanity in all its lights and darks.
