SUMMER STARS: STONE SOUP

Ages 8 - 11 & 12 - 15
Monday - Friday | 9am-3pm
This summer, both groups of Summer Stars campers will rehearse, build and perform Stone Soup! During the first week, campers will be cast in their roles during an abbreviated audition process.
Camp Hours: 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Camp Performances are Saturday, June 15th at 12:30pm. Tickets will be made available to the public. Each registrant gets two (2) complimentary adult tickets.
About the show:
he story follows a stranger who visits the village seeking food. Unfortunately, the villagers are all poor and have nothing to share. The stranger decides to make "stone soup" and requests a pot of water and fire to heat it up. One by one, the villagers offer to help by contributing ingredients such as salt, carrots, beans, potatoes, and corn. The soup continues to improve, and finally, a baker offers fresh bread, but the soup is still missing meat. Two villagers who had been playing checkers offer meat in exchange for a reward, but after learning that the stranger is poor and in need, they offer their meat freely. This heartwarming play teaches a valuable lesson about the importance of generosity and helping those in need.
Through a combination of humor, heart, and just the right touch of sentimentality, "Stone Soup" is a charming story that reminds us all that sometimes the most important things in life are the simplest ones – a shared meal, a helping hand, and the bonds that bring us together as a village. ROADWAY BABIES SUMMER SESSION

Broadway Babies is ready for the summer! In this program for 4 to 7-year-olds, students learn the basics of performance while also having fun and playing acting/theatre games!
In addition to our Summer Stars campers' production of Frozen Kids, Broadway Babies will present their own miniature production of an original Disney-inspired play right before the "big kids"
perform their show. Broadway Babies will hold their camp
separately, though on the same production schedule as Summer Stars.
LAB RATS DEVISED THEATRE CAMPS

The Lab Rats are back! Our 1-week devised theatre camp returns this summer! We think the name fits pretty well because in this one-week-long camp up to 10 students will create out of thin air their very own theatrical experiment! Using the techniques of improvisation and devised theatre, in only one week we write, rehearse and perform our very own play!
