Special and Unique Educational Opportunity!

 

 

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Tyler Collins moved to Scotland in 2007 to study at the RSAMD (now the RCS) and graduated in 2010. Since then he has worked as an actor and composer, having performed at the Tron, Citizens, Pavilion, Traverse, and Dundee Rep Theatres. He’s appeared in adverts for IRN BRU, KFC, and STV, and had small stints in River City, and Outlander. Tyler is a founding member of Worrying Drake Productions, and along with writer/director John McPhail have made 4 award-winning short films, including “Just Say Hi”, winner of two out of three awards at the Virgin Media Short Film Competition. Together they’ve finished their first feature length film “Where Do We Go From Here” (winner “Best Film” and “Best Score” at the Sydney Indie Film Festival and “Best Actor” and “Best Score” Blue Whiskey Film Festival). Tyler also wrote music and performed in “Last Dream (On Earth)” with National Theatre of Scotland, which won “Best Music and Sound” at the 2015 Critics Awards for Theatre in Scotland, and was performed at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Most recently Tyler finished the national tour of "The Broons" playing the part of Hen.

 

 

“Character Through Clown – A Master Class in Honesty” : Learn the humor of simplicity, with a technique that helps find truth in character for both stage and screen. This intensive dives into the world of acting through a style developed by the masters of physical theatre. This is not circus clown, this is timing mastery.

 

 

“American and British Regional Accents and Dialects – A Master Class” Learn to develop an accent or dialect for stage and film from the only American with dialect technique capable of fooling the Scottish. This master class will focus on alternative methods of accent-learning driven by character. Learn key techniques to hone any British and American accents.

available to people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.

As a special offer for those with multiple children or with one child that wishes to take multiple classes at PLT, a 10% discount* will be applied to the tuition amount of each class for which a child or the children of a single family register.

 

 

BROADWAY BABIES

 

For children ages 4-7, this 7-week foundational class is perfect for “rising stars” of all backgrounds. The class will cover the basics of acting and stagecraft, set and prop design, costuming, and everything else that it takes to put on a show – all in a fun and friendly environment. The class will culminate with a performance by the students.

 

Session 2 – Classes start Wednesday, April 5th

Class time: 4-5pm

Tuition: $155.

ACTING 1 FOR ADULTS

 

For adults 18+, this 8-week class is a basic introduction to acting techniques for the stage. The course is designed to help actors develop the ability to play dramatic action honestly and believably, using realistic/naturalistic material. Exercises and improvisations exploring awareness, relaxation, observation, the senses, the voice, and physical and emotional life will be used. Students will work in preparation for an audition monologue to be presented for critique at the end of the class. No previous experience required.

 

Session 1 – Classes start Monday, January 30th 

Class time: 6-7:30pm

CAMPS

 SUMMER STARS

SUMMER STARS (Ages 8-17) PLT’s premier summer camp! This all-inclusive, 3-week day camp is perfect for children and young actors that have always wanted to perform on stage in a full-length play. From auditions (1st day of camp) to rehearsals to performances, experience the entire process of putting on a show. No previous performance experience required, this is a show where EVERYONE is guaranteed a part!

 

Selected Show: TBA!

Camp Dates: Monday – Friday, June 5th – 21st from 9am-1pm

Performances: Thurs, June 22 @ 6pm and Fri, June 23 @ 2:30pm and 6:00pm

Tuition: $150

 

 BRAVO!

BRAVO! (Ages 6-10) This 1-week day camp will lay the foundation for any young performer. Experience all aspects of the theatre – acting, costuming, set design, and more! Students will have the hands-on theatrical experience they are sure to remember for years to come. No previous experience required.

 

Camp Dates:

  • Session 1: Monday – Friday, June 12th – 16th from 9am-12pm
  • Session 2: Monday – Friday, July 10th-14th from 9am-12pm

Tuition: $175

 

 BREAK-A-LEG!

BREAK-A-LEG! (Ages 11-16) For the serious young actor, this 2-week day camp will focus on character development and performance. Students will create a play from beginning to end, utilizing traditional storytelling techniques and their own limitless creativity. No previous experience required. 

 

Camp Dates:

  • Session 1: Monday – Thursday, June 19th – 29th from 9am -1pm
  • Session 2: Monday – Thursday, July 17th – 27th from 9am-1pm

Tuition: $250

 

 LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! (Ages 9-13, and 13-17) Experience the world of film in this interactive, 2-week day camp. Students will have the chance to explore all stages of film production and will learn will the subtle art of film acting. No previous experience required.

 

Camp Dates:

  • (9-13 Section): Monday – Friday, July 17th – 28th from 9am-12pm
  • (13-17 Section): Monday – Friday, July 17th – 28th from 1pm-4pm

Tuition: $250

  • Section 1: Mondays from 6-7:45pm, July 10th – August 14th
  • Section 2: Thursday from 6-7:45pm, July 13th – August 17th
