VOLUNTEER
OPPORTUNITIES
Each Pensacola Little Theatret performance is a labor of love, and volunteers
keep the show going! All are invited to share in the excitement of the
performing arts by becoming a volunteer.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering at PLT -- from high school students,
to business people, to seniors -- is encouraged to become involved. PLT
can use your help with a variety of volunteer opportunities, such as ushering,
serving on committees, helping with artist hospitality, and assisting
with mailings.
For more information, or to express your interest in volunteering, please
contact Jerry Ahillen, Production Manager, at 850/434.0257 or jahillen@pensacolalittletheatre.com.
Distribution Coordinators
This is a great job for those people who like to get out and explore our
area. We are always looking for help in the distribution of flyers, brochures
and show posters to make sure that as many people as possible hear about
Pensacola Little Theatre. Come join our team!
Staff liaison: Marketing/Public Relations
Performance Ushers
We need volunteers who would enjoy meeting, greeting and seating all of
our many patrons throughout the season. Ticket taking, program distribution
and audience control will also be part of your responsibilities. You should
enjoy dealing with the public, and we prefer that you sign up for one
performance during each Mainstage and Treehouse show.
Staff liaison: Managing Director
Special Events Volunteers
We require volunteers for many different jobs during our yearly special
events. They include our annual Haunted House; PLT Dialogue; subscriber
renewal party, Kids Expo and other events. We could use your talents as
decorators, ticket takers and clean-up crew.
Staff liaison: Marketing/Public Relations
Carpenter/Electrician/Painter
If you have experience in any of the above listed areas, we definitely
have projects which would benefit from your talents. Come join us as we
build sets and have general work-calls for our shows.
Staff liaison: Technical Director
Photographer
Experience in photography and your own camera is necessary for this position.
We would require your skills in still photography for capturing magic
moments occurring on stage during dress rehearsals or at special events.
Your photos may be shown in our newsletter/online and kept in our archives
as part of PLT history.
Staff liaison: Marketing/Public Relations
Mail Outs
Work with the PLT staff on our many information and donation campaigns.
Your assistance would be required to process (stuffing, labeling, etc.)
mail outs to our vast database.
Staff liaison: Marketing/Public Relations
PLT Guild
Our Guild is always looking for new volunteers to help out with their
fundraising events.
Liaison: PLT Guild president
Cast Members
No experience is required to audition to be a CAST member for a Little
Theatre production. Our newsletter always includes information on upcoming
auditions. Being cast in a production requires a major time commitment:
six to eight weeks of rehearsals and two or three weekends of performances.
Lead roles typically require more time than secondary roles.
