About PCC
Located in the heart of Pensacola, Florida’s Arts District, the Pensacola Cultural Center is a popular venue for performances, fundraisers, and private events.
Built in 1911 as Escambia County’s Court of Records and Jail, the three-story building was deeded to Pensacola Little Theatre, Inc., in 1988 for redevelopment as the Pensacola Cultural Center. The Valerie J. Russenberger Theatre fills the space formally occupied by jail cells, and the M.C. Blanchard Courtroom was a working courtroom until 1978.
The spaces where judges handed out justice and criminals served their time are now filled with the positive energy of dancers, actors, artists, and students. Weddings, birthday parties, luncheons, seminars, and business meetings take place alongside theatrical performances, dance showcases, and musical events.
Owned and operated by Pensacola Little Theatre, the Pensacola Cultural Center is also home to Ballet Pensacola, the West Florida Literary Federation and Portabello Market restaurant.
